Health and Fitness

Being fit is something that is important to me. When I feel good health wise than I feel better about life and just feel happier all together. Cameron and I have a goal to run a 5 k together. We set it for April. He wants to be healthier as well. Although I may do one sooner. My  Mother in law volunteers to help out with the annual "When Hale Freezes Over" race and it is coming up here pretty soon. I might just have the motivation to get ready for it and at least jog it before I hit a lot more 5 k's in the spring and summer.  I am excited to be able to start to run again. I still have to be cleared by my doctor, which will be in two weeks. Lately I have just been walking about a mile or 2 a day. When I write it down I realize that compared to what I use to do this is nothing, but it feels like a good amount for me right now. Claire and I love to go on walks. I am super grateful that it has been nice weather lately so we have been able to go out and I don't have to worry about it being too cold for Claire.

My parents got Claire a Jogger and Car seat combination stroller. I love it for when we are on walks and Claire just sleeps the whole time, but I think she still enjoys it when we get out. :) 

It has been a month since I have had Claire and the pregnancy weight came off faster than I thought it would. However, I am still soft in areas that didn't use to be it just makes me more motivated to tone and get fit. I use to hate weight training when I was running often, but I am ready to give it another chance and see how I do with it. For now I will be starting with crunches and push ups, bu t as soon as I can go back to the gym I will give the weight machines a go. I am really excited because Cameron's work got an awesome deal for the rec center which means we can go as a family and be healthy together. :) I am most excited about the indoor track so that I can take Claire with me in her jogger.
